Luke Mulholland is a former professional soccer player and current scout for Real Salt Lake, bringing years of high-level playing and talent evaluation experience to athletes in New Jersey. Originally from Preston, England, Luke built his career from the ground up to the professional ranks in the United States.
PROFESSIONAL PLAYING CAREER HISTORY
Luke played over 250 professional matches across leagues including Major League Soccer (MLS) with Real Salt Lake. He earned a reputation as a relentless competitor and intelligent midfielder, contributing leadership at the highest levels. His honors include USL Pro Rookie of the Year and multiple Best XI selections for USL and NASL.
A NASL Championship winner and Soccer Bowl MVP, Luke consistently performed in high-pressure moments, scoring decisive goals in playoff matches. During his college career at Wingate University, he earned All-American honors and conference player of the year, establishing himself as one of the top players at his level.
Personal Life & Community
Beyond the field, Luke is deeply rooted in the Hunterdon County community he now calls home.
After spending more than a decade in Utah during his professional playing career, Luke and his wife, Dana, relocated their family to Hunterdon County, New Jersey, where they are raising their son, Lennon (5), and daughter, Teagan (2).
Family and community are at the center of everything Luke does. When he’s not leading elite soccer training in Hunterdon County, he stays active as the Head Scout for Real Salt Lake, his former professional club, and also works as a local realtor, helping families find homes in the area.
Luke also holds an MBA in Business, bringing a strategic and disciplined mindset to both player development and business leadership.
In his spare time, Luke enjoys coaching youth soccer, fishing, spending time at the beach, and being involved in the local community. He proudly serves as his son’s youth soccer coach, loves taking his daughter to gymnastics, and regularly trains at HealthQuest in Hunterdon County.
His passion for mentorship extends far beyond private training sessions—Luke is committed to helping young athletes and families thrive both on and off the field.
